Seam padded through the Skyscraper. He was on enemy territory, so what. Those Helzan cats could go somewhere else. Just because they had taken over the city didn't make them dictators, right? He stood in front of a stairway that lead higher and higher, leading to more and more stair cases. He looked behind he after thinking he had heard something in the shadows and made his way up the stairway. Personally, he didn't want a cat to shoe up, but the silence wasn't his favorite thing either.

A dark gray she-cat was sitting up, alone, in the shadows. She was up in the rafters, watching this newcomer with intensity in her misty green eyes. This appeared to be a loner, like herself. This only made Twilight even more suspicious. And this loner was a tom, and he was ascending the steps towards her hiding place. Twitching her tail, she knew she would have to reveal herself. So the she-cat bunched up her lithe muscles and jumped down from the rafters to land a few yards in front of the tom.
"Who are you, and what do you wish? This is Helzan territory," she growled aggresively, her eyes narrowed. Twilight didn't want to fight, especially if this was a Helzar cat. But he appeared to be a loner.

Seam looked at the she-cat, not showing how startled he had felt for a moment. He looked over the she-cat and noticed her scent wasn't that of a Helzan cat's would be. All cats in groups like that have a similar scent, so you smell one, you smell them all. He smiled and mewed, "Your sure acting tough; I could be asking you the same question now, couldn't I?" He stared at her, his greenish, yellow eyes sparking with a hint of interest in the she-cat.

Twilight narrowed her eyes and lashed her tail back and forth impatiently. "Perhaps," was all she snapped back fiendishly. Fixing an intense stare in the tom's direction, she caught a whiff of his scent. It was certain - he wasn't a Helzan cat, so she was safe for now. Relaxing only slightly, the she-cat flicked an ear. "But I was here first, wasn't I?" She tilted her head tauntingly, her eyes still narrowed.

Ember padded on her eyes burning with an intensity that they have always had and will always have. Her multi colored pelt was clean and carried the scent of another loner, but this loner was on a mission. "Never have i wanted to come back here." she hissed to herself. Looking around she moved on hoping no one was around. Ember did not live here but if she was going to achieve her goal she would need to know all of Helzan territory. Sniffing the air the scent of other cats filled her nostrils. "Loners." she spat. Focusing she spotted two of them one was a she-cat the other a tom. "Well if they're loners i might get some information." she mewed to herself and approached the both of them.

Seam spat back at the she-cat, "Depends on what you mean by 'first.'" He turned around as the smell of another loner cam into view. He looked at the new she-cat and thought, Oh great, now I have to deal with two short-tempered she-cats? He always thought of she-cats as the same, even when he didn't know one. He hissed to her, "And what are you doing here?"

"Don't hiss at me!" Ember spat back. Already she had said nothing and this bird brain hissed at her. "If you knew better you would watch your tongue." Leaving her fiery gaze on him she sat down and looked at the she-cat. "Do you know him?" she asked purposely being loud so the moron could hear her. "If you do you ought to teach him some manners." Grinning Ember then face the tom no expression on her face. "Also it is none of your concern why i am here."

"I mean by here since yesterday morning," the fierce she-cat spat back. Twilight hissed and lashed her tail at the new scent. This was yet another loner - her scent did not carry the Helzan 'sting'. So she turned a hostile expression towards the newcomer. But she remained silent - for the tom asked her just what Twilight would have said in the first place. But as the loner she-cat began speaking again.
"Of course I don't know him," she snapped angrily. Twilight lashed her tail and rolled her eyes. "If I did, he'd be gone already." She glared over at the tom, and then turned a fierce look over to the newcomer.

"Good to know." Ember hissed back. Was every cat in a bad mood today? Looking around she then noticed a bit more of the she-cats scent. "Do you live here?" she asked. Ember meant to be rude and wanted nothing more but answers. She hoped that the she-cat would say no, for if she lived here Ember's plan would be all more difficult. At least they weren't Helzan cats.

Seam sighed. "Why am I the only male here anyway?" He had meant to only think it in his head, but it didn't work out as he wanted it to. Oh crap, oh well. He didn't want a fight, he just happened to be in a bad mood. "At least they ain't Helzan filth." Again, it was made for his head, but it went through his mouth. He looked at Ember and mewed, Since you said it didn't matter why you were here then..." He looked back at the other she-cat, "Then it shouldn't matter to you why I am here, right?"

Twilight snorted at the she-cat's question, twitching her tail in exasperation. Her misty green eyes seemed alight with sudden amusement. She let out a slightly mirthless laugh. "Live here? Why yes, you could say I do. I enjoy living on enemy lines," she practically chuckled. Twilight had lived here for a while. No Helzan cat really came around this place often, so the loner she-cat considered it a safe haven.
As for the tom... Twilight turned a frustrated look towards him. The she-cat growled in his direction and shook her head. "Because like I said, I'm making my home here, tom," the loner snarled fiercely.

"She has a point." Ember mewed to the tom. If this was her home then no one would be here, but Ember knew she had to ask some questions, Not yet, she thought. She had a feeling that the cats were in no mood to answer any questions. "Oh," she added to the tom, "may i ask your name?" She then looked at the she-cat showing she meant to ask her the same question. "If you don't want to share it's no problem but i would rather talk to you by your names." Ember was mean and rude but she did have some class. She hated not knowing other cats names, it annoyed her. "I'm Ember." she said with a tone showing they were not to give it out to anyone.

Twilight fixed the fellow loner in a cautious, thoughtful glare. Twitching her tail in thought, the she-cat wondered whether she should reveal her name. This loner seemed... hmm... sneaky in a way. And it was obvious that this Ember didn't want her name spread around. Twilight was an intuitive cat, and she picked up on the tone immediately. "Well, I'm Twilight," the she-cat muttered stubbornly. It wasn't that she didn't want to share her name, but it was still strange to be speaking this way with other cats. "I know this fleabag of a tom got no answers out of you, but it's my turn. Alright, Ember, would you blass me with telling me what you're doing in my home?"

Seam mewed to Ember, "She has no point, for all you know I could be saying this has been my home for moons and she justwalked in and started calling it hers!" The truth was that he lived out in the plains where there was actually food, but he didn't say out loud. When Twilight had made the comment about him, he turned his head to give her a hard glare. "Excuse me, who are you calling a fleabag you piece of fox-dung." He wasn't usually this...vile but the she-cats were getting under his skin. He turned back to Ember and hissed, "And if you must know, my name is Seam."

Ember seemed to smirk as she watched the two cats going at one another. She now knew their names, Twilight and Seam. "Well who's ever home this is," Ember cut in before the two went at it again, "it doesn't matter to me. I live far out in the plains, maybe even a bit farther." Ember was sure not to give out to much information on where she lived. Turning toward Twilight she mewed, "The reason I'm here is just because i want to get a sense of the surrounding area. If you would really like to know I'm just poking around, and you can trust that i will be no bother to you and your home." Turning to Seam she mewed, "Or to you. Trust me I'm focused on bigger problems." Ember then feeling a bit more comfortable began to lie down on her stomach. She turned her fiery gaze at Seam and asked, "Do you know anything about the Helzan cats?"
