Heart padded along the sidewalk, memories flooding to him like a current of water. His young looking body didn't look or feel the age he really was and that power felt awesome to him, now he did not have to worry about aging and those pathetic cats who looked up to him could never find out, he sneered at the thought. The stars were out, glittering above him. He remembered the day he watched the fleeing humans running from him and the others who had fought beside him all those centuries ago. Pathetic humans, you had acted so high and mighty, and that led to your downfall, you had made yourselves the target, making this whole city my target. He sighed and sat down where he was, staring up at a light as it flickered on and off.

Bell watched, keeping a few paces behind Heart. She stared at him with her golden orbs, curious as to what he was doing. Often has she walked down the street as the lights were dim, but never had she encountered her leader as well. She kept her mouth shut, not wanting to startle her leader or make him angry at him. He was their leader, after all.
Bell stepped carefully so she wouldn't skip the stones and make her presence known. She could feel the blood-lust pricking her lightly cream pelt as she watched Heart walk through a sliver of light from a street lamppost. She had to keep calm for the moment. Then again, Heart has had his fair share of leading, right? Maybe...

Heart flicked his ears as a scent drifted towards him. Not much of a fighter if she stays up wind like that. He turned his head to look in her direction and mewed sternly, "Bell, is that you?" His voice had no emotion in it, it just sounded like a command more than anything else. He didn't like to act like the cat he was all the time, no that wasn't him. Even though he was blood thirsty like most cats in Helzan were, he didn't like to be a leader ever cat feared, he would rather be respected, afterall, that was how he ended up seizing control of Helzan, along side the fact he never seem to age.

Bell jumped at the sound of Heart's voice. He must have smelled me... she hissed inwardly, scorning herself for her mistake. Her ear twitched and she flicked her tail, meowing, "Yes." A simple reply, but it was all that was necessary. She felt her claws unsheathed. She was hitting the climax of an episode--the hardest part to control. She tensed every muscle in her body and clenched her jaw.
"So, what're you doing out?" she asked through a struggle. Her tail was erect and her claws continued to dig into the ground. Maybe one kill... No! He's the leader and I won't do it! Why not? Because... It's wrong... So? That didn't stop you before! I'm not killing him! You'll regret it... Yeah, right.
Bell's whiskers flicked as she battled her internal struggle. She felt the blood-lust drifting away and she sheathed her claws and unclenched her teeth. "So, what are you doing out?" she asked in a more cheerful tone.

He smiled to himself, remembering the cats who had fought with him against the humans, the ones in her bloodline. That family all had one thing in common, a strong sense of a killing instinct, but its stronger in some of them. He could tell that the instinct was stronger in her then the others, and she was struggling with herself. He mewed calmly, "Just walking about. I have the right to walk around, don't I?" It was not really a question to respond to, but still. He laid his tail around his paws and relaxed his muscles a bit more.

"Are you questioning your own authority?" Bell countered, a little bit light-hearted. "I haven't heard of such a thing! A leader like yourself curious to their power!" She chuckled, her own whiskers twitching with amusements. She inwardly smiled, being able to finally have a conversation with Heart, mighty and ever youthful leader of Helz, without having a form of blood-lust creeping over her. She'd have to control herself better--or at least until she met another cat in battle.
She pictured a scene of battle with other cats. Her claws cutting gashes into the pelts of worthless cats. Feeling the empowering sensation of victory that she had earned.
She shook her head to jerk herself back to the present. Her claws were digging into the ground from the murderous thoughts she'd let seep into her mind. She quickly regained her composure and mentally scolded herself for her weakness. She could not succumb to the carnage. That was true weakness. It was only power when used for good But... What was the good?

Heart's black tail moved from his paws now and laid out behind him. He flicked his tail slowly back and forth, dust clouds started forming behind him anbd he hissed in his head, This city is just as dirty and disgusting as it had been the first time I stepped paws on these streets. Something seemed to flicker in his mind and he looked back at Bell. He asked, "So...What were you doing out here this late?" He never cared when his fighters were out and about, but he was always curious, especially at this time a night when all the prey, out in the plains would be sleeping and only rats would be scurrying around. Heart had never liked those filthy creatures, but they were a quick source of food when needed. He shook his head to clear it from the random thoughts.

She stood still, wondering about said question. Why was she out so late? She really had nothing to do, did she? She was just strolling, as it was perfunctory. She found it a safe time when she has a desire for blood, but still. Why had she become so accustomed to it?
Her tail flicked as she considered the possiblities. "I... don't know. Why are you so curious, hmm?" Bell had a knack for asking questions when she, herself, was asked.

Heart just shrugged his shoulders and mewed, "No reason really, I was just curious, that's all..." Was it really only that? Or was there somewhere deep inside that he had something in his mind that he wanted to know about? Was he suspicious of something that his conscious didn't know about? He let out a sigh, trying to get the questions away, he didn't enjoy questions much. He looked around the streets and wondered out loud by accident, "There haven't been any fights around here lately. I hate the peace, it gives me creeps and makes me want one all the more." by the time he had noticed he was talking out loud, he wished he could take the words back.

Moon sat looking up at the stars. They looked so bright, happy as could be. I wish i was a star, a star that was happy. The blueish gray she-cat sighed knowing her life would never change. She was always going to be doubted no matter what. Her sea eyes twinkled in the silver light while the darkness of the night clung tightly to her pelt. The cold air whipped harshly at her pelt making her get up and stagger along the sidewalk. It's so cold, she thought as her soft paws touch the concrete floor making her tremble a bit. She then turned and began to pad on making her way along the dim lighted streets. Stopping for a moment she lifted her ears twitching them in many directions.
Other cats? Looking around she could see no one hidden under the blanket of hell. Now moving faster in hopes of finding the cats she came once again to a stop, but this time finding what she was looking for. "Bell and Heart?" she said softly making sure no one could hear her. Crouching low to the ground she began to tiptoe closer to the two and ended up pressing her body closely against a lamp post blending in well with its dark gray color. Listening she heard: "There haven't been any fights around here lately. I hate the peace, it gives me creeps and makes me want one all the more." Moon almost spat at this, but she knew it was normal coming from Heart, it seemed all he cared about was blood. Just like mother. Yet instead of confronting him Moon just sat there, she just wanted to listen.

Heart flicked his tail slowly back and forth, the wind started to pick up, once a soft, gentle, un-noticeable wind, now a harsher feeling that blew into his pelt. It still held some of the freezing coldness from the winter that had just passed, but underneath it he could feel the change in the air that was signaling that Spring was in fact here. Like everything else, change in seasons take a while; so life within this city can't change quickly either...right? He sighed and looked up at the sky for a moment, but then back to Bell.

Sitting there Moon became bored, well who wouldn't, the two cats just sat there doing nothing. Finally deciding to show her face Moon stepped away from the lamp post and silently walk behind the cats. She made absolutely no noise what so ever. Finding a dark spot on the street close enough for the two to hear her voice Moon stopped and sat down, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws. "Hello Heart, Bell." she mewed.

Heart flicked his ears in a silent welcome to the she-cat, but kept his eyes on Bell for a moment, loss in thought. Finally he turned to look at the new arrival, Moon and remembered the day she had saved him and the thought made a flicker go down his spine. He mewed, "Hello, Moon. How are you today?" He wondered exactly how many of his fighters were just wandering around, wasting there time anyway.

"Fine." she replied with no emotion. Moving away from the darkness she then padded over to the two cats and sat off a short distance away from Heart. "I just heard cats talking so i followed the sound." The cats of Helzan all knew how Moon had an amazing ability of hearing things about a mile away. Looking at Heart she could sense he was a bit ticked off, probably because he thought she was doing nothing, when really she was just about too. "I'm going to the Plain to hunt, would anyone like to join me?" Moon rarely ever asked questions like this but she didn't feel like going off alone in the Plain by herself. She then started at them waiting for an answer.

Heart thought about her offer and mewed, "I suppose I will. I could use a good hunt and something else besides the gross rats that are easy catching." He stood up and started to lead the way, without waiting for Bell to answer the offer. He really didn't care if the other she-cat came with, but he just hated waiting for something that might never come about. ((I'll make a thread in the Plains for the hunting.))
